In collaboration with the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and the Science, Technology, and Innovation Secretariat in the Office of the President of Uganda (STI-OP), ICER convened a landmark continental strategic meeting on Mpox therapeutics frameworks and frameworks for natural therapeutics in Kampala from 17th – 19th September 2025. The meeting brought together over 100 senior researchers, policymakers, traditional medicine experts, and international partners to address the escalating Mpox public health emergency and to co-create a continental framework for natural therapeutics research and development.
