The Interdisciplinary Consortium for Epidemics Research (ICER) convened from 1st to 3rd October 2024 on the backdrop of the increased number of Mpox cases in the region convened a symposium cases to forge a way to better respond. The meeting brought together consortium members, frontline stakeholders from the affected and at-risk countries to discuss research and response strategies. The symposium created an avenue for identifying research efforts, research gaps, and provided a near-the-frontline avenue to customise approaches and build a harmonised research and response strategy to the Mpox epidemic.
